Just noticed today that the bolts on my adjustable cam pulley on my 2.0L silvertop zetec inlet cam have come loose and the pulley has moved right to
the very edge of it's adjustment. I've no idea how long it's been like this but might explain why my idle has got worse recently.
I can see indents in the cam pulley of where the bolts were originally tightened up and it's probably 5mm or so off this now. Is it just a case
of turning the cam nut until I get these bolts lined back up where they were and tightening them up again.
I was never all that impressed with the allen bolts that came with the pulleys anyway so It's probably a good idea to source some more that give
better purchase for tightening them up.

Re time the whole lot, also does the cam wheel have at least 6 cap screws. Some of those with only 3 have been known to come loose.
These have 5 screws, I went out today and bought some socket head bolts to replace the button head screws. They have a deeper stronger head for the
allen key.
Been pointed towards Nord Lock washers as well instead of the standard spring washer to avoid any chance of this happening in the future as well.
what kind of pulleys have you got ?
