Hi guys,
I have a 1300 xflow with the standard single choke 1300 carb.
Anyone know where I might locate the main jet?
My engine is still running too rich and can't seem to get it down, even with the fuel mix screw fully wound in!
Thanks
Andy
Got any small drills? We chk the size with a drill fit first, then solder up and re-drill.
How do you know it's running rich? If its a stock carb and engine the stock jet will be on the lean side.
Check the float level first.
Sounds more like a float chamber level issue --- what fuel pump are you running?
thanks for the replys, standard 1300 xflow, standard single choke carb, standard xflow mechanical fuel pump.
I don't know what a float chamber level is, about to go and start reading!
I assume it's running rich as it stinks of petrol, getting black smoke, and the spark plugs are caked in soot.
Also using a Colortune, the combustion chamber has an orangey flame rather than blue.

Sounds like the choke is stuck on ?
Steve
just to check i'm not going mental, if the choke is "on" then the choke flap would be closed correct?
So i can assure you the flap is fully open ;o)
No m8, your not mental, but it does help!
With the current setup, can you start the engine from cold, without using the throttle, ie crank it over and it fires?
also, once HOT does it start ok ,
as either of the above would indicate it being to rich, and possibly a choke problem
have you used the colortune on the engine when hot, ie been static running for at least 15 miniutes

info or parts for weber carbs contact
Anthony Bosher-Johns at Fast Road Cars he specialises in Webers
he suppled me with full refirb kit for my twin choke
Sorry his tel no is 01495 237456 or 07900 373389
Won't be a Weber it will be the cr*p Fomoco/Autolite/Ford item unless it has one of the single choke ceconomy onversions that were quite common when the original carb died.
