Where/how to fit my air filter

I've got a problem with where to mount my air filter and I'm fishing for inspiration/lateral thinking.
If I mount it in front of the radiator like this
then the air feed either gets crushed by the bonnet or fouls the wheel when I turn. There is space behind the radiator, but then it'd be sucking
in nice hot post radiator air.
There is space on the passenger side body work where the pile of tools are
but anything picked up by the front wheel would go straight into it. I'd be paranoid anywhere near any standing water. I really want to avoid a
pancake filter on top of my engine as I don't like the aesthetic.
Help?

Put the filter closer to the engine, then duct the cold air to it. Maybe add some heat shielding beneather the filter to lessen the hot air from rad
and general engine heat.

Nice idea, but I wouldn't want to be a passenger with the induction noise aimed right at me. Passengers are only ballast anyway. This may be
doable if I can ensure the ducting doesn't go near the exhaust.

fit an aluminium cover to the wheel wells...then put some vents / naca ducts in side of the bonnet to draw in air from outside the engine bay....

When I raced a landrover hot air was killing power, I ducted the air back and put a vent in behind the wheel.
Put the filter on the panel that the washer bottle is sat on, reverse the throttle body intake and take the convoluted tubing over the back of the
engine.
You will need to shield the filter from exhaust heat and add a side vent in the bonnet and duct air towards the filter inlet.
