Am I right in thinking the Mazda L3-VE is the same as the 2.3L Duratec? If so, would it have the same gearbox bolt pattern as the 2.0 Duratec?

I've come across one for a reasonable price and it's got me interested as a possible replacement/backup to my smoky 2.0 Duratec.

Often wondered this myself...
