Does anyone know what the three coolant connectors are on the cylinder heads of an Alfa V6 are?
I've circled them below.

Hi,
looks different to mine...which engine is it? 12 or 24v?
Mine (early 24v) has the two main connectors comming out of the heads at the front of the engine, this is the hot water coming out. you can see them
in the pic below, the LH one has a rag stuffed in it.
There is one at the back which looks like the smaller one. Mine has a metal pipe screwed into it (arrowed) which goes to the heater, with a small
loop up to the throttle body. I've blanked the heater port off (with a bleed valve as it's the highest point).
This view is the rear of the driver's side bank:
Where's your pump outlet? Mine originally came back between the heads and out the back, I used an older 12v pump outlet to direct it out of the
front.
Mine is one of the last 12V engines from a GTV spider.
The front of the engine has 2 blanking plugs, which i've now removed to fit a 75 thermostat housing later.
Description
The rear of the engine had the RH bank alloy housing which you have arrowed and linked to the throttle plate. My water pump outlet had a 90 deg elbow
on it that went over the 2 knock sensors in the middle of the V to come out lower than the 2 large head outlets.
I think I need to get another elbow to go over the rh outlet in my picture for a heater outlet and use the LH bank connector as the return.
Many thanks for the advice. Regards Dan.
So did your pump outlet go along a big metal pipe in the V, and out the back? That was what mine did.
I'm far from an expert on all the different engines, but all the ones I've seen have the water from the heads coming out of those two pipes
at the front.
If it helps I've some 12v manuals as PDFs, the cooling system one still shows those front pipes being used :-/ I can send it to you if
you'd like, drop me a UTU with your email in.
