my x/flow has been bored out to 81,65mm.
i´m struggeling to find a head gasket for that size, besides the rather expensive Cometic, 79,- pound at burtons with 82mm bore.
isnt there a standard headgasket from ford or payen in matching bore size available?

Lotus Twincam gasket
any link to a shop or webpage where the boire size is also mentioned?
searched the QED homepage
headgaskets in their shop are
copper +0.020
84mm composite or steel
87,5mm composite or steel
the +0.020 one would be nearest...but i dont like the material.
My Xflow has been over bored by 0.060" and has standard Payen head gasket, it hasn't been a problem in 6 years
it might work with a standard gasket but technically its not correct.
on a overbored engine the standard headgasket protudes into the combustion chamber, too much oversized gaskets would have a recess whith the risk of
pre-ignitions and hotspots.
as the car has a very high compression a headgasekt with the correct bore size is a must.
Pay the £70 if your not happy using a standard gasket
i was also led to believe a decent standard size gasket would work. i have a felpro and a reinze gasket on my 2 1700 xflows
I ran a very expensive 180 Bhp 1700 (83.5 bore), 10,000 rpm crossflow. The most reliable gasket was a standard genuine Ford Capri gasket. Not sure if it is still available. The least reliable was the special big bore copper gaskets (AH270 if I remember right).
