Can anyone tell me if a 1.3XL engine is the same as a 1300GT engine?

Thanks Rick

Smaller valves, and different cam.

'smaller valves and diferent cam'

I've heard this smaller valve thing so often I think it's time it was sorted out....what are the actual Ford dimensions for a bog standard 1300GT (NOT a 1600GT) engine then? and what are the dimensions for say a 1300L?

The cam is different granted

I asked this a while ago, as I had a mis-match in the casting number on my 1300 (it showed 37 instead of 33). Even so, http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/xmb/viewthread.php?tid=1405

PS I have photos of my 1300 Type 37 head with measurements, and extracts from teh Haynes book. They are on the Yahoo Locost Racing NG, but I can't find out how to make them visible outside. If anyone wants them, I'll try and get them compressed and posted here.

Ok, I know the answer, just a bit worried that no one else does (inculding people who have a website offering x-flow engine builds), depends what you're doing obviously but 1600GT valves on a standard 1300GT don't work - well no, they do but you wont get any extra power and the engine will be more 'fluffy' (tech term!) than any Christmas jumper you've ever recieved.......
