Nice thanks few good ideas of were to start there

kingster996 - 17/7/14 at 03:26 PM

Coozer - did you get it set up on a rolling road? If so, where - or do you know a good RR company locally?

slingshot2000 - 17/7/14 at 03:35 PM

I can strongly recommend MacDonald Racing on Maiden Law, between Anfield Plain and Lanchester, for their rolling road expertise.

Jon

Set mine up with the MS myself using an AFR and tuner studio..

Swapped to an Omex and got it set up at at Automark in Stokesly.

Apologies to Mark for the thread 'hijack' !

@baileyperformance - heard good reports about you guys, but at over 4hrs to get there, it's not that close! Besides will be next year by the time I have the IVA sorted and need an RR session

Mark100 - 21/7/14 at 11:44 PM

no problem kingster
anyone in yorkshire got a st170 in a 7 i could pop over to with my cammera and a tape measure

kingster996 - 23/7/14 at 10:25 AM

Thread now 'unhijacked' - as I now too have an ST170 engine! (well, when I pick it up that is)

So, might be picking your brains later on (and Coozer's too)

Main question I have now is what do I need to mate it to my Type9 box (ie which flywheel, clutch, bearing, cable clutch arm etc)?

I'll get on to induction later I guess.

coozer - 23/7/14 at 02:49 PM

You need a 1.8 escort zetec flywheel and a Mk1 Mondeo cover and plate, a CTT133 release bearing from a Capri.

That lot will go under a standard type 9 bellhousing and release fork. Alternatively, a ali RS2000 bellhousing works OK as well.

kingster996 - 23/7/14 at 03:00 PM

Cheers Steve, just the sort of info I was after (and I'm sure Mark won't mind either!)

coozer - 23/7/14 at 03:07 PM

Mark100 - 23/7/14 at 10:44 PM

Mark100 - 23/7/14 at 11:51 PM

escort rs turbo efi i zvh zetec turbo efi flywheel with clutch @ pressure plate

so just payed for this is this flywheel and the complete clutch i need spigot bearing ?? got a thrust bearing on order

coozer - 24/7/14 at 10:39 AM

Short shaft IMO.

And yes you need a spigot bearing, unless its a st170 which already has one fitted.

kingster996 - 24/7/14 at 11:24 AM

This any good?
FORD ESCORT LIGHTENED FLY WHEEL FOR GTI

Also, is the clutch for any particular Mk1 Mondeo? (found one for a 1.8 diesel and 2.0 petrol - are they the same?)

Don't worry about the torque, a standard clutch in a light car can handily a lot because the input to overcome the inertia is a lot lower.

Got any pics of the clutch? Zetec clutch will fit a zetec flywheel and mate up to a type 9.

Mark100 - 6/12/14 at 08:52 PM

Flywheel just as pic on page one
clutch spring and plate from ebay link on page one
are these the right ones ??

the splines in the centre of the friction plate have not got the right number teeth ??????
code on plate c142-3 spring code 2650 oy13043

coozer - 6/12/14 at 09:18 PM

Dunno mate, as long as the plate slides on the gearbox splines and the cover fits the flywheel it should go OK, what exactly is not fitting? Which flywheel you got?

Steve

Mark100 - 6/12/14 at 10:09 PM

The hole in the centre of the friction plate is to small for the gearbox shaft and it has the wrong number of teeth ???????????
