i have a 1600 CVH engine in a Westfield , and am looking for a lowered sump. i have managed to scuff 2 in the last few years.I have been looking for someone who has done this or has drawing or dimensions please.
I done mine of a link/guide on net but can't find it, a few photos on my images of various stages reduced height by about 30mm one thing I did learn was not easiest to get a leak free with mig welding at first attempt
Exactly the reason that we use t.i.g for modifying sumps. We always leak/crack test with chemical sprays just to be sure.....If m.i.g welding, (not recommended) then be sure to weld both sides to ensure no leaks...
Good thing with the 1.6 is you can get a new one and have nice new steel to play with. I use a combination of mig and tig when doing them.
Just a pity we cant buy 'new' x-flow pans.....
What would the cost be for modifying one
