Hi, Just another question when fitting zetec to type 9 gearbox, I bought a zetec 1.8 starter motor and have been reading various post and I think I've cocked up it seems I need a cvh starter just need one of you knowledgeable peeps to confirm.
Is there anyway of using the zetec starter, or does it rotate the wrong way?

the best one is the 1.8 CVH starter the standard sierra one can be used but you will need to make a 14mm spacer to space this away from the bellhousing

The starter bolts to the gear box not the engine so a zetec starter will not fit the Sierra gearbox.

That said it's still not as easy as needing x or y as there is more than one that will fit and more than one manufacture that make each one with slightly different dimensions. All will fit the Sierra but not clear on a zetec.

But as a guide you want one from a 1.8 cvh Sierra or the 2.0 dohc sierra.
