Any one know if a type 9 heavy duty gearbox mount would fit a type 2 4 speed? Getting a lot of banging from the prop shaft hitting the chassis and
fairly sure that will sort it but cant find anything listed for the type 2 just the type9.i know a lot of ford stuffs interchangable....is this?
Or any other i deas to sort the bang on corner( right handers) gladly listened too.

Looks like it should do if retro ford do universal ones....
what kind of mount do you have at the moment ?
the sierra style mount is very flexible:
but the old Cortina/escort style one is a lot better and much cheaper than the aftermarket ones: - it should be less then £25
this is the one that's used by caterham, westfield and loads of others too...

(and if you look closely at the retro ford link above you'll see they use this type in there HD cross-member )

So, help me out too.
I have one of the sierra mounts on my fury, and one night with the engine suspended on the crane, the crane arm sank, the engine lowered and the
rubber in the mount tore, so I need a new one.
I was thinking of either welding one up, or going for a stiffer aftermarket one. Bearing in mind my engine is almost solid mounted (the engine mounts
are on 1/2" ID rubber bushes) I don't know if I'm better or worse off giving the gearbox a little more compliance with a new sierra
mount, or am I better off with a stiffer mount.
Any suggestions, learned friends?
Thanks
Mark
