This might be a stupid question, but how does the oil in a Duratec lubricate the cam lobes, bucket followers, valve stems etc? Looking at the head there is one pressure feed in, that runs into a passage down either side of the head. The camshaft bearings are then cross-drilled into this passage. Apart from those I can't see any other holes/jets for lubrication. Does the oil simply flood out of the camshaft bearings and then get flung around to lubricate everything?
There will be feeds to lubricate the bearings and feeds to lubricate the followers. The lobes will get plenty of splash.
I can't see any feeds to the followers as there is nothing in the guides.had the head completely stripped hence why I am curious!
