Duratec Install - Advice required please!
mackei23b - 29/10/14 at 01:27 PM

Hi there

I'm just about to install a Duratec and I'm using an ST150 flywheel with a raceline hydaulic bellhousing.

I've done a search on the forum on clutches but I'm stiil not 100% clear on what I should use. I'd be grateful if anyone can let me know a tried and tested combination of clutch plate and cover that will work (preferably without any modification to the clover plate fingers).

I'm aiming for crica 200BHP with Jenveys, and some mild porting to match the inlet and exaust manifolds.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Ian

Why not ask Raceline. Always helpful and they will know exactly what will work.

Not tested yet - but some info on my clutch combo here - based on what others have used http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=192871

I have used an uprated RS Turbo S2 clutch plate, with AP heavy duty pinto friction plate.

But as you will be adapting FWD clutch you have to shorten the fingers- which to be fair is very easy with a dremmel.

You also need to cut off the guide tube in the input shaft of the type 9 when going hydraulic

This set up got me over 200 HP.

Otherwise need to look at RWD Motorsport website or similar which is expensive.
