i have a micra rad and fan but i am using a pinto that should produce about 140- 150 hp will this rad be up to it
has anyone used this rad/hp combo
ps i am building a 442 so i do have room for a larger rad
cheers dave
James is using that rad, though his si a standard pinto and it isn't onthe road yet. a polo or golf ally cored rad would be fine if you'r
not sure on the micra one..
Ned.
i am using a micra rad with 2.0i pinto, not on the road, but will tickover for over an hour with a steady temp reading, and no different if I were to
take allegedly short blats!!
The temp is fairly high, but consistant and does not overheat
its just that i plan to sort out the rad mountings this weekend and i only want to do it once
whats the first test drive like mark
not on the road of course?
cheers dave

Im building a Mac1ZR with 2.0 pinto. Mac1 recommend the Mk1 Micra radiator. I was in their demo car - 2.1 in twin 40's, approx 140 - 150 bhp.
Apparently had no problems with this set up.
I hope this helps.
Darren.
Does the Micra rad have a temp sensor location built in?
kelvin
It has a temp switch built in for the fan.

surely you can change the switch?
i think mine cuts in about 84 degrees, but there is vast variation, 108 is the highest halfords stocks.

for what its worth the clio rad looks like it might be a contender. not sure about brackettry and sensors etc, but looks pretty smart.
dont go for a rover 216 rad - looks(ed) perfect, not too tall etc, but just to wide. darn.
