Evening All.

Just doing a rebuild for next season, I am fitting a Wideband AFR , to help me with the mapping. I can't put the WB sensor where the narrow band sensor is at the moment. So need to move it downstream, I Have a 4 2 1 system and the nearest I can get it to the head is approx 900mm downstream once the exhaust goes into the 1 pipe. Next issue is that I can't get it directly verticle on the to side of the pipe, so will have to go in the side, Iknow some people say the it will suffer from condensation and not do the sensor any good if it is not right in the top , any body had any experiance of this please.

Why can't you fit it where the narrow band sensor is? You don't need both, the wideband should have narrowband output to keep ECUs happy if needed.

In terms of mounting, the closer to vertical the better, but the installation instructions for my AEM wideband say at least 10 degrees up from horizontal.

Thanks for the reply. As I said can't fit it where the narrow band originally was.Have blanked it off, and only using the WB. Mainly concerned about the distance from the head for the sensor.Not sure how important this is?

I run aem widebands and put them 800mm min from the exhaust port on turbo engines as they wont tolerate heat like the narrow band can

I think you can run a bit closer on n/a engines ,

You want in after the last collector in the single pipe after the 4-2. As long as the sensor is above the centre line of the exhaust then its fine
