Guys,

Is there currently a spigot bearing in the
end of my crank (see pic) or not?

Thanks in advance

Stephen

Wierd...does the Mk2 mondeo not have a spigot bear then? The engine is as removed from the car...

None of the zetecs have a spigot bearing in the crank as stock.

Luckily for machined the recess in the end of all the cranks to allow fitment of one for rwd applications!!

Burto power will flog you he correct one for about a fiver. Just warm the crank up, put the bearing in the freezer and then press it in square with the correct size socket.

Already got one from Dunnell, but didn't want to push it in until I was sure nothing needed removing!

Cheers, guys

Get it the right way round. Problem is I can't remember which way it goes. If i remember right there is a small oil seal one end.

Yeeks - hadn't noticed it wasn't symmetrical.

I'm Guessing the rubber(ish) ring is a seal to prevent rubbish getting in so faces out...

Thats the way I've done mine.
I checked with Burton Power first to make sure!
