Hi I've got an ST170 engine with 1.8 flywheel RS2000 bellhousing and I want to have the starter motor on the inlet side of the engine, does anybody know what starter I need?

Cheers.

So which side is your inlet? I have a Ford-fitting starter motor for LHS mounting, on to the appropriate bell-housing.

The inlet is on o/s or on the right as you sit in the car.

With the 1.8 flywheel you need a dohc or cvh type off a Sierra.

Theres one for sale in the for sale bit..

I think if you fit a DOHC or CVH to the OS it may be possible to fit it with the solenoid at the bottom provided you have clearance?

Yep, the starter on the drivers side will have the solenoid underneath pointing away from the engine.
