Oil extraction pump TDI Jeep
joneh - 28/2/15 at 03:27 PM

Hi,

I have a Jeep Pat due its service. It has the VW TDI engine. I've tried oil extraction using a pump but the plastic hose doesn't reach right down the bottom and sticks.

Does anyone know if the dip stick tapers towards the bottom? If so I'll see if I can source a narrower tube.

Pela 6000 (also sold under different bend names) vacuum extractors us a flexible steel suction pipe that gets to bottom of the sump of any vehicle I have tried it on.

Ok thanks, looks like the steel probe is only 3/16 (about 5mm). The eBay jobbie I have the smallest hose is around 9mm

Will order a pela and eBay this one.

+1 for the Pela 6000.

I'm sure the pipe on these is actually an outerbrake cable from a bike.

Got a Pela 6000 from the local yacht chandlery and it worked a treat.

On another note, could the engine bay of the jeep pat be the worse designed bay ever? Right pain to get to basic service items.
