What is the life of these engines and the clutchs etc ?

Are they easy to replace in cars?

what power level are these engines?

Converted my mk locost from x flow to zx9 easier than I thought. Your hood is a bit heavier but a lad near to me had a Robin Hood with a R1 engine

Where are you?

Depends which blade motor
But the 04-06 Yamaha r1 should give years of reliable fun and clutches last really well

I'm using a 919 blade motor

clutch has been great with the stiffer springs fitted and standard plates
no reliability issues (i have gone through a few engines but this is down to mishaps and user error) so far in ~20k miles over 2years and numerous trackdays.

Standard, 130bhp

Clutch in the ZX9 is stout, with upgraded springs mine holds 225bhp. The only problem is that most of the zx9 gearboxes except the E model I believe have an inherent design flaw in the gearbox which can make it jump out of gear if the engagement dogs have some wear. I changed my gearbox to one from a z1000 and its way better now

I ended up with a ZX12 in the end, what are the clutchs like in those?
