Hi peeps, now, I know there are not too many s2000 cars on here, but, I'm plumbing..... Heater hoses capped, where is the best place for header/ expansion tank? Bottom hose??? Small pipe from rad to expansion/header tank??

Any help much appreciated, don't want to cook the old girl on first test!!!

Header tank and expansion tank are different systems.

An expansion tank has a single feed usually from the radiator neck, but could be the stat housing or the highest point on the cooling system, this feed goes to the bottom of the tank, the pressure cap is usually on the tank, but can be on the rad in a non pressurised expansion tank layout, theory is as the coolant heats and expands the excess volume flows into the tank, then as it cools it is drawn back into the cooling system, keeping it full and free of air.

A header tank is normally fed from the bottom hose to the bottom of the coolant tank, could be Td into the heater pipe which returns coolant to the bottom hose, sometimes there are more than one connection, one from the heater, then the other back into the bottom hose. There is then another vent from the top of the cooling system to the top of the header tank on the pressure side of the cap, not the overflow connection, this bleeds any air from the system to the header tank. The header must be the highest point on the cooling system, and have the only pressure cap.
