A Question for all LCBers using bike carbs, and ZZR600 versions in particular. Where does one fit the TPS? (Removed from the Ford Escort donor). I've looked at the blanked end of the throttle shaft, and was wondering whether I should remove the blank end - or is there some form of bearing/support which should not be disturbed?

(The TPS will be required for the NODIZ installation).

My CBR600 carbs came with a TPS attached to the throttle linkage, next to the cables - not much help to you, but maybe there's a similar place on your carbs where you could fit one?

Thanks for your suggestion. I note from your photos that the TPS is mounted on the end of the throttle shaft, pretty much as I planned to do. Still not too sure about possible damage, if I open up the "cover" at the end of the throttle shaft, on my ZZR600 carbs.

Not all bikes needed a tps and its very common for early carbs not to have it.

I did what you are considering.
I made my own throttle bodies for a zzr1100 using the carb linkage and a ford tps, pretty simple really as can be seen.
I drilled and threaded the end of the linkage and made a D shaped adaptor to screw into it.

You could always use a MAP based system instead of TPS for the load - would require 4 x vacuum connections on the manifold, piped into a chamber and then single pipe out to an aftermarket map sensor (circa £40?).

A shaft extension is the only way to go if retro fitting a TPS.....quite fiddly. If I recall correctly the cap in the end is simply a 'core plug' type cap to cover the end of the shaft.
