MT75 clutch lever travel
Mix - 11/12/04 at 12:11 PM

Can anyone tell me the operating range of an MT75 clutch lever when fitted to a Zetec? Just the amount the cable moves would be fine. I'm trying to design a peddle box but I have yet to sort out my clutch.

Thanks in advance Mick

Depends on clutch used --- fwd clutches have thinner more compact pressure plate assemblies and also thinner driven plates --- you can't mix and match between the two types.

Perhaps I worded that badly, I'll try again.

I plan to couple a Zetec to an MT75 gearbox along the lines described on here buy Chris Gibbs and others. The clutch travel dimension I am after is the amount of cable retraction required to release the clutch. With a 'ball park' figure I can then design the clutch pedal.

Thanks again Mick

Back to this one again,

I've now fitted a flywheel and clutch assy from an1800 Zetec. I have the old original thrust bearing from a 2000 DOHC Sierra. This bearing looks identical to the one in the w*******d catalogue. I have made an adaptor to bond to the bearing, (a la w*******d)). On trial fitting the movement on the actuating lever from intial contact with the pressure plate to a point where something stops it internally is 25mm.
Does this sound about right?
The clutch disengement/engagement seems fine.
Is there anyone who could have a quick look at a similar setup for me?

Thanks Mick
