Intake Manifold Gasket
WallerZero - 26/10/15 at 01:28 PM

Hi All,

I'm looking to do my own intake manifold gaskets due to my intake options potentially moving away from the standard spacing. What gasket material sheet would I need for the intake? I can't seem to find any definitive answer or where to buy just a sheet of gasket material to cut/trim to my requirements.

Cheers

The thickness can depend on the surfaces you're applying it to. 1mm for very flat shiny new surfaces. 2mm for less than perfect!

I didn't think that stuff would be suitable? Most inlet gaskets I've come across are either steel with compressible grooves or have rubber sections on...at least I thought that lol

I've made several for my Zetec from 1mm gasket paper and had no problems.

There are no water rails in there though so just needs to seal the inlets.

I always use a bit of intsan gasket as well.
