Please could someone tell me if I need a long input shaft type 9 gearbox to mount a k series engine to the type 9 using caterham ali bellhousing.
Thanks Matty

Well I have a similar setup, K series (with no hole for a spigot bearing!), Caterham bellhousing and short shaft Type 9 and the input shaft is too short! So, I guess the answer is yes! There are quite a few threads on here about it I believe.

Regards

Wyn

As with the Vauxhall Red Top in a Caterham you need the long input shaft box but it needs shortening a little to avoid grounding in the crank, 10mm springs to mind. Easily done with a grinder, chamfer the end to match original.

Yes as said, long input shaft for the Caterham
