Evening All
Is there any technique to adjusting the cable clutch on a type 9 box? My car has been stood for a long time and driving it yesterday the clutch
started to slip. I seem to remember many years ago my cousins phoenix had clutch slipping issues and is was the cable that needed adjusting.
The cable is normally adjusted at the clutch fork end (at least it is on my Dax that has a T9 box in it). The adjuster runs through a flange on the bellhousing on the offside. A couple of nuts allow you to alter the effective length of the cable outer and adjust the clutch......
Or it's an auto adjuster which will have a plastic quadrant on the clutch pedal
I had an issue with clutch slip, found out the threaded end of the cable was getting court in the clearance hole. Fitted a clip to stop outer cable from moving back when the foot lifted of the peddle. Hope this makes sense
