Hi Guys,
I have a 2.0L Zetec with what I am told is a Type 9 gearbox?
What options do I have with the bellhousing?
The starter motor part is to close to the chassis and I dont really want to modify the chassis.
Is there other bellhousing available?
Or guessing that its cast metal, I could cut it down and have it welded? Makeing sure the stater still fits obviously
Cheers!
Looks like a T9 to me as long as 5 speed.
On my spitfire I had to cut a chunk of the bellhousing away in the same area. In fact, quite a lot. I cleaned the area up and stuck a bit of ally over
the hole with PU adhesive, still there several years on...
Hi,
Yeah that would work too. I guess it could be welded?
it might help if you reduce the size of the photo's to make them easier to view?

I will have a look around for a good compounded to glue it or is there one you recomend?
Just chop it off at 45 degrees no need to fill ther hole in.
Alternative as Lou Grade said when he got the bill for making the film Raise the Titannic lower the Atlantic, move the engine forward 25mm

Perfect! In Wickes close to me.
I would move it forward but not sure how much is allowed on the prop shaft and if the timing cover etc would touch the bonnet.
