Time for me to get the engine off the bike carbs and into injection and catalyst, I can't get it through an MOT ( unless I take it to a few
'nice' garages which are miles away) anyway looking at the setup DanST sells on eBay
I'm after opinions regarding quality and value
with scope for future engine upgrades
Ford Zetec 1.8/2.0 Bike Throttle Bodies Kit GSXR 42mm *COMPETITION PACK*
Currently l have a megajolt running mikuni carbs on a Bogg brothers manifold which I'll be selling as a kit to help fund the upgrade.
Mazie, thought that the car was just a blue smoke test as it was sva'd and on an age related plate (car was originally on a single plenum
injection system and went through the test with OEM ecu and cat, '97 engine date iirc) what does the log book say for emissions? This car has
also ran an emerald in the past so may have most of the wiring still there for that.
Your existing system, assuming you have not changed it, is a Chester sports cars system, may be worth giving them a call to see if they can do an
upgrade.

Have you asked Omex what they can do? I suspect you can get an ECU, wiring loom and throttle boy kit from them for similar money as that
"competition pack"
The Omex throttle bodies are getting great reviews from many users and, just as important, many engine builders who have to set them up......wish I
had some but I fear that could lead to divorce
Hi Ugg
Hows the ford coming on?
your right engine is from 1997, and the log book does quote emission specs not that I can remember off hand , I found one garage a few years ago (
light horn heath ) that passed it on a smoke test but he did state that as the engine was after 1995 it would require a CAT and relevant age related
emissions.
Ive not tried chester sports cars direct yet, worth a shout. Im sure the Omex setup is way more than £1600 ?

If your prepared to spend 1600 then what's a couple hundred more. You'll get a better more progressive throttle with the omex bodies over the bike ones which can be a bit on/off.
I know its a different engine but I have a DANST manifold on and MX5 engine. the quality is really good but i sent him my TB's so they could be
aligned perfectly

I have the DanST manifold, spacing kit, 90mm trumpets and GSXR1000 throttle bodies on my 2.0 blacktop.
Throttle response is spot on, not a problem at all. Mapped at JDM Dyno and got 185bhp - so why spend more money I say

The Titan roller barrel ITB's look lovely but are way over my budget.
Ill speak to Dan when he gets back from his holidays and see what locost price he can do
Required emissions are printed on the bottom of the front page of your V5
Check that
Take that with you to MOT if it's better
Throttle bodies are just tubes with butterfly's
Titan rollers are different and better as no restriction when fully open
I was told you can't stamp rollers open quickly as they bog but have to feed them in
