short tip spark plugs - whats the catch ?

in the ongoing build of my pinto I've found one more little snag - the fairly common issue of clearance for the spark plug tips....

I can just mark the standard ones and make sure they all line up the right way round - but are short tip ones a better option ?

also I was going to use the resistor version of the standard ones [NGK APR6FS] to work with the megajolt

I have used the indexing method, mark outer insulator where earth electrode elbow is etc.
And have a head with plug inserts for 10mm plugs which pulls the plugs up so electrode does not protrude below head face.

I may well just got with indexing the standard ones as its easy and I'd only need a couple of spare plugs

but I'm interested in the 10mm plug inserts - were did you get them and what plugs are you using ?

Came with the head but I think Vulcan do them
Plugs are NGK BP7ES from Burtons
They have a longer thread but the insert pulls them up then the angle and the smaller diameter takes the electrode up from head face

so I guess something like a BPR6EIX or BPR7EIX should work with the adapter too then
