Just saw this article that some may find interesting - it's certainly a way of boosting engine power that I have never heard of before! You would
need 1 per cylinder though, so no good for all those V12 installs

Sounds interesting, but if it's small capacity twins or triples then I doubt it'll be seen on cars at any point, even BEC's.

if I understand how it works, I think it would need a fairly restrictive exhaust system to hold the pressure
it could also have major noise issues
certainly an idea worth developing thou

It uses the energy in the pressure pulse when the exhaust valve opens rather than a constant back pressure. There is only a single exhaust connection
to the unit rather than two separate ones for exhaust gas in and out, so needs an additional pipe spliced into the original downpipe to route the
pulses to the unit.
Because there is no net flow through this pipe, simply making it long enough means the temperature at the "Drum" end is low enough for the
plastic/alloy housing to cope with.
Since it's absorbing exhaust pressure energy, it should make the exhaust somewhat quieter rather than noisier. The unit itself would need to be
strong enough not to radiate sound energy from flexing though.
