Instead of using an idler on my zetec I really want to use an electric water pump... Seeing as its mid engine, ie in the back this makes sense to me..
Some BMWs have these and look a lot cheaper than the aftermarket kits..

Any thoughts???

In a few years time belt driven pumps will be consigned to the bin on new cars, if it pumps enough for a BMW then it should be fine.

Davies Craig pumps are not that expensive relatively for a new item.
