I was thinking of fitting my oil temp sensor in the sump but im beginning to think this may not give a true reading of the engine oil temp, being as
its probably the coolest part of the engine.
Is there anywhere else suitable on the engine to locate the sensor?
im using the stock press switch port for my remote oil sensor (clutch end) and i have a sandwich plate for an external cooler so that's not an
option either
any suggestions?
Sump is fine, ideally half way up your oil level.
Or anywhere in the oil flow.
I've fitted mine in the end of the big bolt that holds the cooler sandwich plate on
Cheers Kev you've been most helpful today
I was going to use the sump plug hole. I used this on my zx9 but it didn't seem to record the correct temps, 50-60 degrees on the dash?
No problem
The sump plug hole is probably the least accurate position to use,as it's at the lowest point so probably gets cooled by the air passing under
car?
my thoughts exactly, so hopefully there's another place I can tap into the oil system to give an accurate reading?
