Just a quick question, does anybody know what i could expect to pay for a 1600cc, 16v toyota 4-age engine, From a scrappy for instance?

Not sure what scrappy prices are like.

I used to work next door to a Jap engine importer and know that a 16v 4A-GE will set you back about £300-375.

A 20v silver top will be approx £450 - £500 and a black top approx £650

The 4A-GZE will also be about £650

HTH

Cheers

Gary

Contact Martin Keenan, he had a couple for sale a while back. He might still have them. I'm sure he wanted around £150, but could be wrong.

Im sure Martins engines went a while ago.

Locally to us scrapyards usually ask about £250,this of course varies a lot,as some chuck in the extra bits you need, and some charge more for the wiring ,ecu and starter etc.
Just shop around, also try Fensport as they are very helpful, and reasonably priced for some bits that are hard to get.

Museum?

I thought it was the South West region 4AGE franchise.

either take a chance on eBay or visit one of the MR2 owners forums (google will find them, IMOC is one, MR2 drivers club is another) and have a look intheir for sale columns.

You'll be able to pick on up for about 100 quid probably and be able to hear it run first.
