does anyone have any info or photo,s on alternator mountings for zetec engine thanks andy
Does this help??
Rescued attachment untitled.JPG
is that the original ford item sorry i was hoping for something modified to make alternator adjustable to tension belt
If you have a silvertop zetec alternator, you can use a Crossflow mount redrilled for the zetec block mountings as the lower mount.
For the upper mount (i.e the bit that does the tensioning) I *think* you can use the crossflow tensioning bracket, but you'll need to find a way
to mount it to the block.
This is one of the things on my list of things to do at the moment.

PS Here's a pic Dunnell's version
i,ll have a look at that then thank,s any idea how much dunnel,s are thank,s
<deep breath>
just spoken to them in the hope they were reasonably priced...
around £150 including alternator (not too bad but I don't need the alternator)
about £80-90 without alternator (ow)
I'll be honest - I can't see how many of these places (especially Raceline) can justify their prices except with the argument "People
are willing to pay it"

Steve, thanks for the excellent pictures of Dunnell's version. I was looking for inspiration for mine. Thanks!
sierts design worked for me.

Mounted the tension bar (old sierra one IIRC) via solid aluminium bar drilled and attached to two right most inlet manifold studs.

I copied sierts bracket for my pinto fitted with a bedfors/suzuki rascal alternator, tension bar on the top as givemethebighammer said.
Works fine,i'll do the same on my zetec install.
