In my car it currently has some mk1 escort clocks fitted, see pic. The speedo is not currently connected and I dont have a cable, the problem I have is I dont know which cable I need. Its got to go from the mk1 speedo to a type9 box.

ps they will be replaced at some point when I can afford to but for the time being I have just replaced the nasty wood trim.

IIRC, the gearbox end is highly likely to be the same as the old Mk1 Escort fitting, so I would try an Escort cable first if it is long enough...
