Is there anyone out there got experience of Kent cam GTS6. It's fitted to my Pinto 2.1 with 38 DGAS carb. This was how I bought the engine and
so far I only drove it on then off the trailer when I purchased the unfinished project. Haven't had it running properly for over a year now as
still fixing bodywork.
Looking at the Kent webpage, it looks like the cam is more suited to track/motorsport where the revs are held high. Question is - will this cam be of
any use in a car mainly used for fast road driving?

I cant say anything about in a pinto, but Kent cams were very good in my old crossflows
But as you go up the spec for high lift/duration cams, it doesnt matter what you have in there, unless you do the recommended requirements that go
with it, as engine mods, porting and exhausts Ignition and decent carbs etc
The hottest cam, (yet wasnt road suitable) although i used it on the road, was a 285, but coupled with a fully lightened engine, and balanced, with a
decent ignition and better exhaust made good bhp for a 1600 xflow on the rollers, but coupled to a light 7 of 501kgs, helped!
When i took the engine out to 1691 it made 155 on the rollers, but i blew it up not long after,
Also, the hotter a cam is, idling speed goes up, and mine was undriveable under 2k, it would just stall, but redlined at 7700
The cam is better suited to individual chokes and higher static compression ratio so it depends on a number of things regarding how the engine was
built.
You can’t just throw a cam in an engine and get good results especially on a Pinto.
I suggest you run it as is and see how it feels
