Oi Oi
Can anyone recommend a make and part No. for a fuel pump? Has anyone used a Bosch one with good results? Also where is the best place to fix it - near the tank or in the engine bay?

Cheers for your help!
Rich

Hi Rich,
I got a Bosch fuel pump off a 3 series BMW from a scrappy and mounted it near the tank. The good thing about this pump was the rubber cover it was housed in. When I removed the pump it was as good as new.

if you are running a single pump injection system then near the tank and below it's lowest point. The other options for the pump are out of tank pumps from a Vauxhall, easy to fit as they have standard push fit connections.

I used a Vaux too, it's from a Cavalier.

They cope OK and are easy push fit tube connecter.

They don't like bits in them though !

I went through 3 pumps in succession when pre filter could not cope with fine swarf in tank (don't ask). Fortunately scrappy only charged me £3 each.

I now have a pre-filter and an injection post filter. The post filter is the Cav one bought new.

OK, took all your advice and got myself the Calerier Fuel pump and filter, etc. Looks quite good now it's shot blasted and the brackets are all powerd coated.

So, do I need to fit the regulator that comes with the assembly from the Vauxhall and do I need to mount it the same way as vauxhall did, i.e. with rubber mounts onto the chassis.

Cheers
