I have recently fitted new out of the box Renault Clio 2 expansion tank , the same as this one :

I wonder if this is normal, as after few engine runs up to approx 100deg (tested different radiator fan switches) , temperature reading from sender from thermostat housing and via OBD reader (its a zetec 2.0 with OEM Ecu), I cansee that there seems to be a double levels of coolant :

Tubing is I think OK, bottom outlet from tank goes to T-piece close to water pump in lower hose.

Looks like there is always some coolant in lower "section" of the tank, but newer saw that tank construction before - with separating plane , there must be some connection of course as I fill up the tank, fluid goes to lower section, but thought I will rather ask , than allow engine to overheat .

That's ok, but if you want to remove the air bubbles you can unbolt the tank and tip it around to remove the air, this may happen naturally when you drive the car anyway.

Yes, when taking the tank from brackets when I had it before final fitting, when moving , turning it etc I managed to get the lower part full with coolant. But now after one running still and one short drive, as on the picture. Will give it more time , maybe will fil up!
