I have a V6 Jaguar connected to the mondeo gearbox. the selector cables have been replaced and need adjusting. Is there some type of tool to do this or is there "method" of adjustment to get all the gears to select properly?

Alternatively place into 4th and press the side to side cable adjuster, then get someone to hold the stick in a central neutral position while you press the back/forth cable adjuster, this should do a similar job to the proper tool, it might take a couple goes to get right.

If you still have shift issues, there is a roll pin inside the gearbox shifter mechanism that can crack or snap off, initally will give a loose feeling shift but will end up with no shift at all - a new roll pin or a suitable m6 fully shanked bolt will repair this.
