does anyone know where i can get a inlet manifold plate made or does anyone do them to make my inlet manifold for bike carb,s stainless preferbly and rough idea of cost for 2.0 zetec
I want one two for my bike carb conversion...
you could draw one up and have it laser cut locally, its not that expensive these days.......
failing that make one out of flat bar, decent hole saws will cut the holes and you can shape the outer edges with flap discs, couple of hours should
see it done.
i,ve just had a quote to get one laser cut i,ve asked if additional item,s will be cheaper if so does anyone fancy putting an order in with me i,ll post cost,s as soon as i know more
My Zetec came with a plastic inlet manifold and since I have heard questionable things about welding to ali castings I am not interested in obtaining
an ali one from another model. My idea, since I want to retain the standard injector location, is to cut the inlet runners off the placcy manifold and
make an adaptor plate with stub inlet runners angled to meet the TBs (GSXR1000s in my case). Said adaptor plate will bolt onto the head, sandwiching
the remains of the placcy manifold in between it for the injector mountings.
This is what I will do unless I can (a) obtain & machine a suitable lump of ali to replicate the standard manifold flange so that I can mount the
injectors in it or (b) a Zetec owner who has already installed a similar setup can tell me that the injector position on the bike TBs will work as
well as the standard Zetec ones do.
Footnote. The standard injectors squirt directly onto the back of the inlet valves, the Suzuki ones are immediately after the throttle butterflies.
One is better for economy, one is better for power but I can't remember which, can anyone help?
I think it is the closer to the valve the better the economy. I'm sure I've read this on the Jenvey site.
Ben.
ouch ben quoted minimum of £65 for the first one due to time setting machine up and approx £20 for additional item,s
I would want one but the average cost is still to high unless you can get more takers....keep me informed best regards
The good thing of a LHD car, is that you can still use the plastic lump........
But since it's very ugly, I plan on making a new manifold, using a carbon bike0silencer can, and the alu part of an Escort Zetec (1.8). It is
normally sandwiched between the head, and the alu manifold itself, and contains the injectors.
Maybe you can use it too?!?!
my zetec escort has plastic manifold any idea what age escort had ali one and any pictures
This is the thing I was refering to:
http://i12.ebayimg.com/01/i/02/f8/91/7d_1_b.JPG
The fuel rail bolts straight on, complete with injectors.
It's standard on all Zetecs which have an ali manifold. It's the manifold which goes over the engine. I thought most Escorts had
this.......but some 1.8's might have had the plastic lump, like yours. Maybe try some 1.6 Escorts. I'm 99% sure they all use these...
Sold a full induction setup on ebay last week ..didnt think any one on here would want it? had injectors/rail wiring the lot and it only maid a
fiver......
