Picked up a Polo rad at the weekend and it's tiny. Will it cool a 2.0 Pinto?

aye lad, the only problem you'll have is trying to fit it in, they are a TIGHT fit!

is that the Pinto or the rad? Are there any better alternatives?

The rad, takes a bit of playing around to get it to it. The good news is the tighter it is in the nose the more air flow and cooling you get. should be good for 4 pots up to 250bhp ish.

A Polo rad will work very efficiently with a Pinto engine.

You will need a rad from a 1.0 Polo.
Don't buy the one from a 1.3 as it's sligtly bigger.
You can see on my web that the 1.3 rad wont fit under a GTS-nosecone. After some investigation i manage to get the right rad from Norway as the 1.0 was never sold here in Sweden.

i was advised to get a polo rad if th epreferred Micra one couldnt be found.

When i say preferred - i mean in the context of fitting into my car. I managed to get a 2nd hand Micra rad so all is well (although very tight fit). Mac#1 are currently putting the polo rad into a pinto engined ZR right now so i know they fit the ZR - should therefore be OK for the Luego.

I have been advised to ditch the std factory fan and fit the largest and powerful (eg) pacet type that i can afford and will fit to assist with those stuck in traffic moments / sunny track days.
