scutter - 17/2/05 at 09:04 PM

As it say's above can 8mm fuel hose be used as water hose, as i need to plumb in my Dolomite header tank in?

Thinking of doing it as below.

i have and have had no problems.

afaik, water will be held in any rubber hose, fuel needs to be special hose as it eats some rubbers, brake fluid can get through the gaps in normal hose so again needs its special hose

that's my understanding anyway

routing looks reasonable as long as the tank will actually feed the system, ie water level above thermostat housing

Most of the time - water can run through petrol pipes but not vica versa

If in doubt, contact your local hydraulics company(there is a Pirtek almost everywhere now) and ask them for 3/8" P.O.A. This stands for petroleums, oils and air. This stuff is very flexible, cheap and has a good burst pressure(which is the important bit!). It also looks good!
Good luck!

CORRECTION! Don't ask for 3/8",ask for 1/4" which is equivalent to 6mm.......DOH!
