Will this distributor fit a 2.0 ltr pinto

Thanks for your help
It will fit. However, it is an electronic one, so you will need to get hold of an amplifier and suitable coil too. Not too bad to find, there are a lot of motors out there (not just Ford) that ran Bosch electronic ignition...
Dunno, but it's prolly from an 1800 CVH.
Antony,
In the context of our previous discussion about running your Pinto then I'm pretty sure that's the dizzy you need.
See if you can find from the seller exactly what it's from and if they have the matching amp and coil.
HTH,
James
from an early 2.0ltr. CVH don't have a conventional distributor, they run off the front of the cam direct. That one runs a motorcraft module, you
need the connector for it as well.

AntonyG,
Ive just sent you the U2U as promised with the link to my recent thread on this which then links to James' excellent research.

The ebay link looks like the dizzy im after (dont worry, if you are bidding i wont). I have been told all 1.6 and 1.8 early electronic dizzys work,
pre'86 2.0 pinto's and all transits with electronic dizzys. If anyone knows of other donors for the dizzy or amp then please let us know.
What other cars have people taken the amps from?
Can i ask a question that i think will also benefit Antony. Ive got the 3 wire hall effect dizzy, associated injection amp and coil etc all from the
1988 2.0i pinto donor. We have already concluded that the dizzy and amp wont work (hall effect requiring crank sensor signal via injection ECU etc).
Im after a new 2 wire dizzy and amp - can i use the existing coil OK or does the older vac advance system use a different one?? Im asking 'cos i
know the points type uses different coil and often a ballast resistor but was hoping that all of the electronic dizzy coils are the same or
swappable.
Cheers,
Darren.
