hi,
whats the standard mechanical fuel pump like for a (slightly tuned) 1300 crossflow? or is it worth it to replace with electrical jobbie near the
tank?
cheers,
zane
I believe that the general view is that it's fine for mildy tuned engines up to 1600+ with a down-draft carb.
If you're going for higher power, esp. with multiple side-draft carbs then an electric one is probably a good idea.
Also, if the pump ever packs up, then it's worth replacing it with an electric jobbie.

Lotus Elan Sprint used the standard xflo fuel pump and it had 126bhp
if its goo denough for lotus its good enough for me! will replace at later date if need be but will use for the mo. saves a few quid too.
many cheers for the info,
zane
Should be fine.
My 1360 was running on a std mech. pump.
Only switched to Facet when I fitted the Twin 40s.
