Gents:
I have this fuel pump.. I want to mount the pickup on the top of the cell. With
this fuel pump, can it be mounted lower than the cell itself?
Also, doe the fuel input--ie the rather phallus looking bit-- need to point down or can the fuel pump be mounted in any X-Y-Z pane.
--Thanks, Chris
Looks like my facet solid state pump. I have mounted mine with the inlet (long connection) and outlet horizontal. The pump is slightly higher than the
outlet on the bottom of my fuel tank. I am also using the malpassi fuel filter / regulator like the one in your picture.
Works OK like this for me.
Thanks for the help. Is the Facet pump strong enough to pull the fuel from above, in a syphon-like manner? This would work perfectly!
--Thanks, Chris
Not sure, but my pump is the higher rated pump (fast road). It can pump at 4.5-5 psi (standard road pump is 2.5 -3 psi). You can also get a race
version capable of 6-7 psi.
However may be a bit of a waste as carbs only need 3 - 4 psi ?

Presuming you didn't get the 'instructions' with this pump. It recommends mounting no more than 300mm above the base of the fuel tank
and within 600mm of fuel line from the tank to pump...
Cheers

I didn't get the instructions as I bought the pump second hand. Mounting the pump at base level is no problem. However I planned on pulling the
fuel from the top of the cell. I just wanted to make sure the pump would not burn out by doing this.
The seller of my engine included his Westfield build manual but it was very sparce on the details.

PS. Any scans of the official mounting instructions would be welcome!
