page 171 of Ron Champions second edition book shows a good alternative engine mount to others in the book.
The type with a tube running from the block starigth down to a rubber block between tubes F and G.
What are people using for the rubber block though?
Will scafold pipe do for the main tube?
cortina/land rover mounts,scafold tube is horribe to work with and weld,1" dia is strong enuf
I made mine from some 40x3mm rhs I found at the scrapyard. Any bigger and I don't think the bolts would have gone past then at the block end.

That's basically the type of mount that I have used. I made mine from 1 1/4" CDS as I had a bit laying about after making the frame on my
grasser. I made plates for the engine end, cut the ends of the tube to the suitable angles, and then at the "mount end", scalloped the end
of the 1 1/4" tubing and welded it to a short length of 1 3/4" CDS, cut flat at the bottom and at an angle at the top to match the angle of
the smaller tube. I then used a holesaw to make "washers" which I welded to the base of the bigger tube and the holes in the centre of these
go over the threads of the mount rubbers.
sounds complicated cos I am crap at explaining, will get a pic tomorrow, camera batteries flat now!!
