Hi All anyone know the procedure for changing to a 1300 xflow and getting the cheaper tax? what do you have to do and also what documentation has to
be provided?
Thanks
Brian
I belive u just re register as a 1300 and the dvla should sort it. Im probably completely wrong. Im sure someone will correct me..
I THINK - based on no evidence whatsoever - that tax brackets these days are set according to emissions, so changing the engine size won't
help at all, especially when the replacement is a crossflow. But then, I may be talking a load of fetid dingoes kidneys, so I suggest a trawl on the
DVLA website.

The older cars is still under the older way of the engine size.. The emissions stand for cars after 2000..
So would Q plate cars be on modern emissions charging and age related be on old capacity chargeing?

You hav eto give the DVLA some sort of proof that the new engine is actually under 1400cc, but I'm not sure what constitutes proof. Seem to remember reading about an engineers report but may be wrong. No problems going the other way of course!!
I sent a letter from my local friendly MOT man along with the log book, he stated in the letter that xxxx cc engine with xxxx engine number was installed and running in the car with chassis number xxxx and used his crimped stamp on the letter, got log book back with new engine nunber and cc.
Looking at the new system, why under the new system do deisels pay more than a petrol for the same level of polution?

Probably because of the particulates in Diesel exhaust.
why bother . all that hassel to save 60 quid
