just had my 2litre mondeo sump shortened how much oil should be in also fitting a oil cooler?

mondeo haynes book says 4.5 litres to run the engine.

my 2.0L zetec takes about 4.8L of oil with a scholar shortend sump fitted and a small crossland 659 oil filter. I still use the same marks on the dipstick as standard sump (scholar recommend this to keep the oil at the same level in the sump as standard)

Raceline recommend 5 litres.

Yes, but still to the dipstick MAX level .. Their sump is rather commodious and will take 5 litres (once you've topped it up after turning it over the first time you fill it).

The dipstick is the only measure you work to, it's the oil height in relation to the crank regardless of what you've done to the sump that matters.

Cheers !!
