The bigger the beter
Im told that anything over 38mm is recomended on the 2l...I have two sets the first .R1's at 40mm the second is a set of Blackbird's at
42mm........
There are a few pics in my archive of the R1's on the zetec...............
Mr Wasa. I keep looking at your arcive and then looking at my credit card.
Top looking set mate. Where did you get the manifold from ?
Yep not exactly locost but Im fairly pleased with it...............
Bogg Bro's 01944 738234 did the work
Well recomended ,its the best service ive had from a firm in a long while(well Burton power was v-good aswell) The guy you want is Stephen.........
Top tip is sort the filter your self as its the dear bit......Must be a locost way
The bargain was the jetting work...The manifold is ok,welding work being very good Stud spacing could have been done with a touch more care...But all
in all a top job........
Having got both I think the honda carbs are better quality and the ones I have are much better condition......
A mint set of quad 42's for £50
They are for my next project.........
honda cbr 1100xx carbs(blackbird)
quote:Did burtons make a manifold as well, just that i've known the guys at burton personally for years (mod prod racing days), i might have to see if they want to make one for me on the cheap.

No I got all my parts to rebuild the zetec from them.......Bearings to rings the whole lot...I said that I had got good service as there was an oil
controle ring missing (strange as no-one ever breaks them) and they where changed with out to much fuss.......
Bogg Bros did all the inlet work....I sent them a set of carbs in the post and the whole lott returnrd ready (well almost)to bolt on and
run...............They did all this in about a week... A lot quicker than outher places ive used in the past/present.. They custom made the manifold
to suit the carbs/cleaned and rejeted the carbs/cut the airfilter back plate to fit and bonded it direct to the carbs and then fitted the carbs to the
manifold ....
Thanks for the photos I ordered my carbs Tuesday from Steve (Bogg Brothers.

I'm going to have to cut a hole in the bonnet for the air filter on my fireblade carbs on the zetec, more work from bogg bros here.

i'd really like mine to be below the hood, do they have to be mounted at that angle? if you could tip them down a bit it'd help some
my filter is pretty deep but it is possible to fit a shallower one,not sure if top of the foam filter is advisable so close to the trumpets though.
I'm sure advice will follow
