Odd Flywheel - cf. Mr. Jenkins?

The following thread provides background.

David (Jenkins) - my flywheel looks very much like yours (see attached pic). Any clues as to it's original source?
This flywheel was taken from an old 1600 GT xflow, but seems to be too heavy, and doesn't have the correct dia for the O.E. starter ring (which I've just got from Burtons).
Evidently, same prob as Mr. Jenkins. Any other wrinkles to watch out for?

Dick

That looks identical to mine - I have no idea which car it came from! My engine was from a 1600 auto Escort, and I was given the flywheel as part of the package.

The bit that you need to fit the pre-engaged ring onto is completely cut away. It is heavy, isn't it!

I'm still looking for a replacement but in no hurry - I don't want to take the engine out just at the moment...

good luck,
David

David -

Mr. Ashurst came up trumps, with a flywheel already fitted with pre-eng starter ring. We noted that the Burton-supplied ring doesn't fit this flywheel!! Gotta check some dimensions.

Engine, clutch, gbox now installed into chassis, courtesy of JAG's loaned engine hoist.
