Hi All,
Just joined the site as there seems to be a lot of useful info and discussions here. I am currently in the middle of building a kit car and am about
to start rebuilding the engine, but before I put it all back together again I want to make it look a little nicer.
I want to paint the block yellow (the car is taking a yellow/black theme), but for the life of me cannot find anywhere that seems to do yellow engine
enamel in a pot (found one that does an aerosol though).
Any suggestions as to where I might find some?
Cheers.
Why not use the aerosol
Well I probably will as a last resort, but it's gonna be a lot easier to use a brush to get to all the hard to reach bits, plus I won't have to mask
everything off.
Plus I don't really have much room to spray without it getting over everything.
Frost restoration do brushing engine enamel - not sure about yellow tho... I'll find the book and let you know.
Cheers
Chris
Found them in a search on Google, they seem to have just about every colour bar yellow :-/
Frost Enamels
Plus they seem a bit expensive too. A friend of mine did his engine in red and got hold of the enamel from Halfords (4.99 a tin), but phoned them and
they don't do yellow.
Cheers.
Por-15 who supply Frost do a colour called hi po yellow:-

Frost don't stock it!
Frost are the EXCLUSIVE Uk stockists as well. You could order it from the states, or maybe ask Frost if they could get you some as a "special".
Couldn't find anything cheaper though - sorry!
Cheers

Will try giving Frost a call on Monday sometime and see what they can do.
Cheers for the link
I had a tin of Holts yellow engine enamel, it was a bit thin and took many coats to give a good finish on a crossflow head. I used halfords black for
the block and many small parts on the car and it covers easily and gives a good finish.
I dont know if it is still possible to get holts paint as mine was about 20 years

Hey m8
try Demon Tweeks, will cost a fortune but it will do the job!!
Have now bit the bullet and decided that I'll use aerosols. Just plenty of masking off to do.
In the end I have gone for a yellow from US Automotive (http://www.usauto.co.uk/), they have a range of colours imported from the US, and
the yellow matches pretty much what I want.
And the bargain is each can is only 4.99 or so.
